Double dose of fun...

Ok I know I just updated my blog a couple hours ago, but we had a pretty fantastic Large Group and I wanted to share it with all of you.

First you must know that those who are coming regularly to large group are growing more and more in community every week. A few weeks ago we had about 15 students come to our Octoberfest at the Moore's house (where our office is), where we indulged in 3 courses of German food and dessert, and played games. It was a great night of fellowship and getting to know each other better. (Don't worry those are root beer bottles :-p)

Then last weekend a group of the students got together and went for a bike ride on one of the trails along the river. This is something that this chapter has not seen in over a year. There's been a sense of distrust towards each other and unwillingness to commit to do anything outside of large group. These activities...especially the bike ride (since it wasn't planned by us staff) is a huge beautiful step towards community in the Pitt IV chapter which is paving the way for great ministry.

This brings me to tonight. At large group we had a wonderful woman (who's name escapes me) come from YWAM to guide us through a prayer walk through the campus. We broke up into 3 groups and went out to different locations and prayed for the Pitt campus. She told us the importance of continual worship and prayer, but helped us see how to pray effectively. She went through how in the Bible Jesus and the disciples always prayed for God to reveal Himself or His truth, etc. They didn't always pray for evil powers to be broken, but rather that God's power be revealed. She did say that there are times to address evil (Jesus did when casting out demons) but mostly his prayers were focused on God, not the Devil. So that's how we prayed tonight. We walked around prayer for God's glory to be revealed, His truth to be shown in the students, and that the ground would be toiled in preperation for the outreach in January. It was an amazing time we spent together before our Lord.

We congregated back together and there was this great sense of excitement about praying and ministering to the college. Many of the students are interested in starting prayer walks and groups every week! This was so exciting to see God move in this way that I wanted to share it with you. Please continue to pray for the students that God's passions will be their passions.
