A small sip of ministry

There were so many moments of ministry that God allowed me to taste that I would love to share with you, but I will try to space it out so as to not become overwhelming ^_^. I will begin with our outreach...

Tuesday was our first outreach. We set up a proxy station called "Extreme Makeover: Campus Edition". It is where we ask students what they would change about themselves outside and in. We then transition it to what God thinks and how he can change us. I had the opportunity to talk to a Buddhist who, although not believing in our God, wanted to hear about what we believed, and we were able to discuss the differences between the religions. He understood everything I said about God, and said it all made sense to him, however he just could not believe outside of his heritage faith. It was an interesting conversation that ended with him wanted all of our information about IV and how to get a hold of us to have more discussion.

One of the students, Kayle, was helping with the Proxy. Towards the end of the day she caught the attention of a girl (we will call her Anne). She went through the proxy with her and started talking about God and how He wants a relationship with us, not just going to mass (Anne was catholic). After thinking, Anne confessed that she didn't think she was really a christian, but that she's been going through the motions and didn't understand what it really meant. She said she wanted to know more, and was asking questions on how to really have a relationship with Christ. Kayle shared more and asked if she would like to pray. Anne was pondering the question, and just as she was answering a friend of hers came. She quickly retracted what she was going to say. She took our information so she can ask more questions later, and left with her friend.

Even though we may never know the results of the seeds we planted that day, we know that when you are obedient to God His plan never fails.

As a former, recently-retired police officer and a born-again Christian, I can't begin to tell you how much I love coffee.

You know what I said many times to my partners at the P.D.? "I look forward to having a cup of coffee with the saints when I get home."

Like all cops, I love coffee (and donuts) and the Lord's coffee? It's going to be PERFECT.

But, then again, who needs coffee when you're in the presence of the Most High God, you know?

At any rate, God bless you! I hope your coffee will always be at least Starbucks quality!

I am offended! I don't drink coffee, I only sniff it! So am I not welcomed at your blog? HaHa!

Like what I see and I've even made a link on my page. But can you make a place for those of us who drink hot chocolate?

Got your newsletter today--looks good. I am praying for you.
