This is Serious

That is the statement many students in our chapter having been making the past couple weeks. In prayer, have been clearly hearing God call them out to a deepened commitment to him, and the ministry we do with InterVarsity. An overwhelming response of God's word to them has been "This is serious".

This is a great victory for any campus, or ministry worker for that matter. Seeing the people they have been caring for, casting vision to, and challenging them to go deeper and take risks with God, actually seeing and doing it is a great joy.

Of course with great movement of God comes great movement of other powers that be.

As no one us surprised, but ministry is messy. It's not always sunshine and rainbows, and mountain top experiences. I will say the 1st 2 years on staff have been not too bad. There have been tough things, but I feel God has been gracious to me and given me amazing staff teams to lead and train me, and amazing students who have been impassioned with our vision.

This year has been different.

Amazing ministry has happened and is still happening. We are seeing God move in ways at WVU we haven't seen in over a decade, and in some cases ever! Our chapter has grown exponentially in many ways, and God has been opening doors for great opportunities for wide spread campus outreach. Satan hates that! And he is trying everything he can to tear us down and destroy God's work IV is doing.

I say this to ask for prayer specifically for the leaders in our chapter, and the staff team. We have been feeling spiritual resistance, and have been faced with not so stellar attitudes of the ministry we are doing by some group members. Personally it has been a very trying and tiring time for myself. (I can't speak for my other team members). I have been feeling a physical, emotional, and mental reaction to the spiritual warfare.

Even so, the enemy can not stand against our God, and with Him on our side, who can stand against us? The Devil is powerful, but he is no contest for God whom we serve.

Please pray as we brace and continue to work hard in the muck and mire of the battles ahead, and that we would not be focused on the evil things against us, but rather on the greatness, powerful, and mighty Lord and King.

Psalm 27:1-3

1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
