As the semester goes on, things have been slowing down a little bit...which is nice.
This week I had the privilege of sharing with my church the things God has been doing through IV last year at Pitt, and this year. I'll be honest and say it's been a difficult transition back to Morgantown, but after I talked, I was so blessed and humbled by the encouragement everyone was giving me that it reminded me how much I missed everyone, and how much they care. I always knew those things, but it's nice to have that physical reminder to bring it to the forefront of your mind.
Friday and Saturday was our IV campout for the chapter. We camped out in tents on the lawn of a church in Bridgeport and had fun playing wiffle ball, eating smores, and enjoying each other and getting to know new friends. This was a night meant to bring community among the group and inspire them to take that to the campus and form new relationships with their peers. Overall we had about 20+ people come, 10 of them new to intervarsity and mostly freshmen. I was hoping to post pictures for you...but I forgot to break out the camera in the midst of the fun and conversations.
Many of our students are still recovering from all their efforts over NSO and are finding it hard to continue meeting and inviting new people to our events. They have good intentions and willing hearts...but the body is weak. Please be in prayer for them, as well as Karla and I, that we would remember the calling placed on our lives and continue on the race that we are a part of.
