an updated blurp

Since it's been a while from my last insomniac update, I thought I'd give it a whirl tonight ^_^

I can't believe there is only roughly 3 weeks left in the semester. Work on campus is beginning to wrap up as we prepare for summer and next year, and students are getting frantic in their overload of course work, but God continues to do good things.

Last week I had the opportunity to speak at the Pitt Large Group on the subject of "God is Jealous". Talk about an intimidating topic! It turned out fairly well though in spite of my nerves. We looked into Exodus 32 and talked about how God jealously loves us...which in turn has several implications in it (i.e. because of his great love for us he is jealous for our faithfulness an love for him, like a marriage bond, he will provide, protect, cherish, and nurture us, etc.). It turned out to be a very interesting talk.

Recently we chose our new leadership team for next semester, and this week was our first meeting with them. I have pictures, but I haven't completely figured out how to transfer them to my computer yet...although I haven't really fiddled with it much, but no worries! Pictures will come shortly! I digress, this week we had our first meeting with the new team. It was a great time of getting to know each other a little more and just become more comfortable with each other. Next semester we are changing up our format to hopefully fit our needs that is better suited for our group. We are taking risks of not doing Large group next semester (since one can't really call 9ish students a large group) but rather we are going to have more of a focus on developing inviting small groups (which we are hoping will be the foundations of future Large Groups), and more intense training and teaching with a core team of students. With all these changes the student need to be in a comfortable place with each other; where they know they can trust and be open with one another. So far the team is looking very positive and willing to take these new changes in stride. I am excited for the year to come for Pitt. I think great things are in store for them. In fact we have a small group of students who are reviving the weekly prayer walk they started last semester to pray for next year. I ask that you would join them in prayer as they seek out discernment, and wisdom from God, as well as working the hard grounds of Pitt.

On the subject of next year...I know many of you are very curious of where I will be placed. Regrettably I can not tell you that answer right now, but I know it will either be Pitt or WVU. Rest assured though that those who make the decisions do so with great prayer and discernment. I fully trust that wherever I am for next year is where God wants me to be, so be at rest in knowing that. However, I will let you know as soon as I get the word.
