LivingStones

Two weekends ago was our winter conferences "Living Stones" and "MAC" (ministering across cultures). MAC is a training weekend that we send students to to learn about ministering across cultures (go figure). During this time they learn a lot about themselves and the way they react to sometimes uncomfortable situations. We had 1 student from Pitt go to this, and he seemed to learn a lot from it.

The other conference (where I was) was Living stones. During this conference we talked about the importance of multi-ethnicity and what we can learn from other cultures. It was an enriching time of learning about our own race as well as others, see the brokenness that is in the world between races, and discovering truths and ways of healing that brokenness. One of my favorite moments was not in any of the teachings (which were all good), however it was during the big party we held for the students sat. night. I walked into the ballroom and there before me were 50+ students standing at the front of the room and on the stage dancing to the new hustle song. It may seem weird that this was my favorite part, however there was something to this sight. The students that were dancing and having fun were of every ethnicity that were represented by our students. They were all dancing, having fun, teaching each other the moves, and drawing in even more people to join them. It was a glimpse of Heaven I've never really seen! I stood there watching them and thought "This is truly what Heaven will be like". All the races of every nation interacting with each other, helping each other, enjoying each other. It was a beautiful sight.
